Early Education

First Steps’ efforts to improve early education opportunities for young children in South Carolina include:

4-year-old Kindergarten (4K) – First Steps works to add half-day and full-day public and private 4K classes and expand 4K child development half-day programs to full-day programs.

Family Initiatives – First Steps creates public-private partnerships or expanded 4K choice in targeted areas, and offers school readiness service integration for parents.
