Join our MLK Week of Service 2022

South Carolina First Steps and First Steps AmeriCorps invite you to join us in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. For the 2022 MLK Day of Service and throughout the week of January 17-21, First Steps staff, board members, AmeriCorps members, and volunteers will come together for a virtual read-aloud with preschool children across the state. Join us!

WAYS TO PARTICIPATE

Sign up to be a virtual reader. All read-alouds will be held during the week of January 17-21, from 10-10:30 AM or 10:30-11 AM. Select the days and times that fit your schedule. Sign up here, then register to attend one of two volunteer trainings:

Calhoun County First Steps hosted its third annual Roll and Read on Tuesday, October 21 as a celebration of literacy, movement, and community engagement for families with young children.  Nearly 250 children and families from across the county, including families participating in Parents As Teachers with Calhoun County First Steps, Early Head Start, a First Steps 4K classroom, and two elementary schools, participated in a one-mile walk and stroller/wagon roll.
